Eight teams remain in the hunt to reach the 2014 Super Bowl. All of them will be in action this weekend in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
Only one of the higher seeds was able to take care of business at home in the wild-card round. The Colts barely got by the Chiefs in Indianapolis, winning by a point and coming back from a 28-point deficit. The Bengals, Eagles and Packers all lost home playoff games after winning their divisions.
Like last weekend, three of the upcoming matchups already took place in the 2013 regular season. The Saints are set to visit Seattle, where they lost 34-7 on a Monday night. On Sunday, the 49ers begin the day’s action with visit to Carolina. San Francisco was beaten at home by the Panthers in Week 10. San Diego will visit Denver in the rubber match between the two teams. The AFC West rivals split their two games, in which the road team won both times.
The Colts versus the Patriots is the only contest that wasn’t seen in the regular season. While Peyton Manning and Tom Brady had many battles last decade, it’s the first time that Indianapolis will be facing New England with Andrew Luck at the helm.
