“Dads” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox)

Eli forced his dad to marry Edna after she’s accidentally exposed as an illegal immigrant in episode 12, “Mister Edna.” However Eli’s plan backfires when Edna begins to act like a wife and mother.

“Agents of SHIELD” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. on ABC)

Agent Coulson uncovers information about the mystery of his death in episode 11, “The Magical Place.”

“NCIS” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. on CBS)

The NCIS team partners with the Department of Defense after a stolen drone becomes linked to terrorist Parsa in episode 12, “Kill Chain.”

“Pretty Little Liars” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family)

During the season 4B premiere the girls try to figure out who is really buried in Alison’s grave. Meanwhile Ezra arranges a secret meeting with Aria and Mona; and Emily struggles with Alison’s reveal.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8:30 p.m. on Fox)

Charles returns to work after his injury and Jake questions one of Rosa’s perps for information about an “elusive car thief” in “Pontiac Bandit.”

“Intelligence” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. EST on CBS)

Josh Holloway of “Lost” returns to the small screen as Gabriel, a high-tech intelligence operative “enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain.” The chip allows Gabriel to be the first human to have “complete access to Internet, WiFi, telephone and satellite data.”

“My 600-lb Life” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. on TLC)

Viewers will meet a woman over 600 lbs in the season 2 premiere.

It’s a new year, which means new TV! Thursday, Jan. 2 marks the first big night for TV in 2014, welcoming a new show, new seasons, and midseason premieres. With Winter Storm Hercules about to hit, we suggest grabbing your warmest blanket and snuggle up for an evening of exciting new TV.

Thursday night kicks off at 8 p.m. with the season 5 premiere of “Community” on NBC and the season 2 premiere of “The Taste” on ABC. Meanwhile on CBS, “The Big Bang Theory,” “The Millers,” “The Crazy Ones” and “Two and a Half Men” return from their brief holiday breaks.

The fun continues into 10 p.m. when “The Assets,” a new limited series, takes the place of “Scandal” on ABC. CBS viewers will also welcome back “Elementary” with a brand new episode.

“Community” (8 p.m. on NBC)

“Community” returns for its fifth season with special back-to-back episodes. In episode 1, “Repilot,” Jeff returns to Greendale to help his former law partner gather evidence for a lawsuit. But Dean Pelton thinks that Jeff is back to help save the school and reunites him with his former study group.

Episode 2, “Introduction to Teaching,” finds Jeff with a new position at Greendale and gets help from Professor Hickey (guest star Jonathan Banks, “Breaking Bad”). Meanwhile, Abed tries to convince the study group to take a new class, “Nicolas Cage: Good or Bad.”

“The Taste” (8 p.m. on ABC)

“The Taste” returns for its second season with a special two-hour premiere with judges Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Marcus Samuelsson.

“The Big Bang Theory (8 p.m. on CBS)

In episode 12, “The Hesitation Ramification,” Penny asks Leonard a “bold relationship question” after her big acting break on NCIS doesn’t work out. Meanwhile, Sheldon “tries to learn how to be funny” and Raj works on his “game” with the ladies.

“The Millers” (8:30 p.m. on CBS)

In Episode 11, “Dear Diary,” Debbie begins to suspect Nathan and Carol of snooping in her diary. To Catch them in the act, Debbie and Adam plant a “fake entry about Tom.”

“The Crazy Ones” (9 p.m. on CBS)

Episode 11, “The Face of a Winner,” will find Simon mixing up assignments and putting Sydney on an account for a video game … where she ends up getting addicted to winning.

“Two and a Half Men” (9:30 p.m. on CBS)

Odette Annable guest stars as Nicole, Walden’s former employee in episode 11, “Tazed In The Lady Nuts.” As Walden teams up with Nicole for a “brilliant new project,” Alan helps Jenny with her relationship problems.

“The Assets” (10 p.m. on ABC)

ABC’s eight-part mini-series takes “Scandals” 10 p.m. time slot with its premiere, “My Name is Aldrich Ames.” The series premiere will introduce CIA officer Sandy Grimes, who is tasked with investigating a lost asset as the Cold War nears its end.

“Elementary” (10 p.m. on CBS)

Holmes and Watson’s former adversary, Moriarty, is “brought in to consult on a kidnapping case” in episode 12, “The Diabolical Kind.” The episode will also find Detective Bell continuing to struggle with his road to recovery.
