getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® Heisman Award Ceremony 2013: Where To Watch Online, TV Channel, Start Time And Prediction For College Football Trophy Presentation

The question on Saturday night won’t be who will win the 79 th Heisman Trophy, but rather how wide a margin Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston will win.

Winston is all but certain to capture the prestigious award, the second consecutive freshman to do so since Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel became the first last year. Winston guided the Seminoles to a perfect 12-0 regular season record and their first national title game berth since 2000.

In most years the voting would be closer with so many worthy candidates, but Winston’s 3,820 yards passing with 38 touchdowns to 10 interceptions and the nation’s best passer rating (190.1) have lifted him above the competition.

Winston could even challenge the all-time voting mark set seven years ago. The largest margin of victory in Heisman history came in 2006, when Ohio State’s Troy Smith eclipsed Arkansas’s Darren McFadden by nearly 60 percent of the vote. Not even Manziel, after his torrid and historical burst onto the college scene could challenge that tally, finishing with 72.88 percent of the vote compared to Notre Dame runner-up Manti Te’o’s 61.27 percent.

Winston’s candidacy, to say nothing of his future outside of football, was in great jeopardy after allegations of sexual assault came to light last month. Last week the Florida State Attorney General’s office announced Winston will not face any charges, but his accuser’s lawyer lambasted the handling of the case during a press conference on Friday afternoon.

Patricia Carroll said the state attorney had redacted information in the final report released to the media, specifically blacking out key information in a medical report that cited injuries suffered by the accuser and the fact she was allegedly given painkillers.

Before state officials decided not to charge Winston, it was believed Heisman voters would leave him off their ballots if any charges came down. The final votes were due Monday, four days after the state attorney’s announcement.

The six-man field loaded with quarterbacks includes Northern Illinois’s Jordan Lynch, Alabama’s A.J. McCarron, and Manziel, along with running backs Tre Mason of Auburn, and Boston College’s Andre Williams.

Williams led the nation with 2,102 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Golden Eagles up from a 7-5 record. Mason pasted the SEC for 1,621 yards and is a big reason why the Tigers will face Winston and Florida State in the BCS title game.

Manziel’s rushing numbers were down from last year, and he needed to lead the Aggies to the national championship for any chance to repeat. Lynch was arguably the most dangerous dual threat passer in the country, but beat up on lesser competition all season. McCarron’s stats dipped this season, but he would have been the new frontrunner if Winston was facing charges and it would have turned into a career achievement award.

Based on a straw poll by USA Today of Heisman voters, 26 of the 29 polled selected Winston. Mason was the only other finalist to pick up a first place vote in the unofficial tally.

While they might walk away disappointed with Saturday’s results, many times runners-up for the award have gone on to more lucrative and rewarding professional careers than the winners.

Adrian Peterson lost out to Matt Leinart in 2004 and is now considered the best running back in the NFL. Larry Fitzgerald has certainly surpassed 2003 winner Jason White; Drew Brees has captured a Super Bowl while Chris Weinke hasn’t taken an NFL snap since 2007; and Marshall Faulk can boast a Hall of Fame career over 1992 winner Gino Torretta.

getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® San Francisco 49ers Vs. Arizona Cardinals: Prediction, Betting Odds, Preview, TV Channel, Where To Watch Online Stream, And Team News For Sunday's NFL Game

Quietly the Arizona Cardinals are 3-2 after winning two straight, but their most difficult task yet comes against the San Francisco 49ers in Week Six on Sunday.

Arizona has gone 3-9 against the 49ers since 2008, and haven’t won a game at Candlestick Park since then either. They’ll have a chance to snap that streak, and even take over second place in the NFC West with a win.

The Niners have won two straight as well, overthrowing Houston 34-3 last week, and St. Louis the week before that. The Texans victory was the best performance for the San Francisco defense this season, forcing four turnovers including Tramaine Brock’s 18-yard interception return that opened the game.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh had the running game do the heavy lifting the rest of the way. Frank Gore and Anthony Dixon each scored a touchdown, while quarterback Colin Kaepernick only threw 15 times, completing six passes for 113 yards and and a touchdown to tight end Vernon Davis.

The Cardinals have their defense to thank for last week’s 22-6 win over Carolina. They also generated four turnovers with three interceptions, and sacked quarterback Cam Newton seven times while forcing a safety in the third quarter.

Quarterback Carson Palmer struggled with three interceptions, but hit tight end Jim Dray for a seven-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter that squelched any chance of a Panthers comeback.

Michael Floyd made an Arizona-high five catches for 61 yards, and running back Rashard Mendenhall gained his second touchdown of the season.

Ranked 23rd in the leaue with 81 rushing yards a game, the Cardinals might be able to improve the ground attack against a banged up 49ers frontline. Defensive tackle Ray McDonald is questionable with a biceps injury, and Justin Smith is also questionable with a bum shoulder.

However the 49ers could welcome back All-Pro linebacker Patrick Willis, who suffered an injured groin against Indianapolis two weeks ago and missed last week’s win over Houston.

"Last week, I really tried to push it to go and it just wasn't all the way there," Willis said after practice on Wednesday to the San Jose Mercury News. "What I didn't want to do was lie to myself and teammates and not give all of myself. Me and the training staff felt it was the right approach.

"Yesterday it was better. I'm still feeling it a little bit but it's certainly a lot better than it was."

Coverage of the game starts at 4:25 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by FOX, or watch a live online stream by purchasing NFL Game Access here.

Betting Odds: San Francisco is favored by 11 points.

Over/Under: 41.5 points.

Perhaps no veteran quarterback in the NFL needs a victory like Houston Texan Matt Schaub. The 32-year-old has led the Texans to three straight losses, throwing six of his nine interceptions on the season during the nasty stretch, including four pick-sixes.

Schaub and the Texans can get their season back on track on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams at Reliant Stadium.

The Rams ended their own three-game losing streak with a gimme 34-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Sam Bradford tossed three touchdowns, two of which went to receiver Austin Pettis, and running back Zac Stacy emerged as a viable threat in what has been an otherwise underwhelming St. Louis backfield.

Stacy gained 78 rushing yards, and will reportedly start again versus Houston, who’s ranked near the bottom in the NFL against the run.

The Texans have scored in the single digits in two of their last three games, including last week’s 34-3 debacle against San Francisco. Schaub had three picks, but running back Arian Foster gained 98 yards, nearly tallying 100-plus for the second straight week.

Bradford could have a difficult time against the Texans top ranked secondary, and pass rushers Brian Cushing, J.J. Watt, and Whitney Mercilus. According to the Houston Chronicle, no opposing quarterback has thrown for more than 200 yards against the Texans this season.

The Rams have several injuries up and down their defense, a sign Houston could turn things around. Defensive end Williams Hayes is questionable with a knee injury, and top cornerback Cortland Finnegan is doubtful due to a hamstring strain. However defensive tackle Matt Contrath was updated to probable from questionable earlier this week.

The Texans have also said top receiver Andre Johnson is a game-time decision after playing through a shin injury. Head coach Gary Kubiak praised Johnson’s mettle and dedication.

"You know if he can get there, he’s going to get there for you, as a coach and as a teammate," Kubiak said to the team’s official website. "I know his leg has not felt good. He’s played really nicked up for us the last two weeks and probably not going to feel real good on Sunday. He always gives it up for his teammates.”

Expect video arcade numbers as Drew Brees and Tom Brady go throw-for-throw on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.

Second in yards and touchdowns, Brees and his New Orleans Saints have lit up opposing defenses for 327.2 passing yards a game, and at 5-0 are one of three undefeated teams left in the NFL. While breaking in new receivers, Brady is 17th in the league in passing yards, (1,211), but he still has the Patriots sporting a 4-1 record.

Among active quarterbacks, Brees and Brady are No. 2 and 3, respectively, in career passing yardage. Brady holds the edge in career passing touchdowns, 341 to 336, but Brees holds the 65.7 career completion percentage advantage.

All those numbers translate into a nightmare for New Orleans defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and his Patriots counterpart Matt Patricia. Both have dragged their secondarys from near the bottom of the NFL last year to a respectable level in the middle. The Saints have notched seven picks to New England’s six, but the Patriots have surrendered four passing touchdowns to New Orleans six.

Now enjoying his first full season in New England, corner Aqib Talib is tied for the NFL lead with four picks this season, and has the Patriots ranked 14th overall against the pass.

The Patriots were hoping Rob Gronkowski would make his return this week from back and forearm surgeries, but he still hasn’t been cleared by doctors to play on Sunday. There are still plenty of questions surrounding the hulking 6-foot-6 tight end who’s totaled 38 touchdowns in three pro seasons. He’s even participated in practices and been tackled, but there is no clear indication as to when he will take the field again.

With Gronkowski out, and a number of roster moves and non-moves made by New England this offseason, Brady’s made fifth-year receiver Julian Edelman his top target for 36 receptions, 354 yards, and two scores. Rookies Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins have shown flashes of talent on the field, but are still developing a rhythm with Brady.

On the flipside, Brees’s top target is tight end Jimmy Graham, who currently leads the NFL with 593 receiving yards and is second with six touchdowns. The 26-year-old former Miami star has two 10-reception games, and has caught for at least 100 yards in four straight.

One outright edge New England holds is on the ground. LeGarrette Blount is averaging 4.5 yards per carry and has tallied the Patriots only rushing score of the season. The Saints counter with speedy Darren Sproles and between-the-tackles rusher Pierre Thomas, but both have proven more effective in the passing game compared to New Orleans 26th ranked rushing offense.

Coverage of the game starts at 4:25 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by FOX, or watch a live online stream by purchasing NFL Game Access here.

getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® Pittsburgh Steelers Vs. New York Jets: Prediction, Betting Odds, Preview, TV Channel, Where To Watch Online Stream, And Team News For Sunday's NFL Game

At the end of the season, the New York Jets could be looking at last week’s win as a turning point in their season. After an upset victory on Monday Night Football, the Jets will now look to take care of business against an winless team.

In Week Five, New York went into Atlanta as double-digit underdogs and beat the Falcons. In Week Six, they 3-2 Jets host the Pittsburgh Steelers, who come into the contest at 0-4.

Geno Smith had the best performance of his rookie season in the most recent victory. He threw a career-high three touchdowns and didn’t throw an interception for the first time. Perhaps most impressive was the drive that he engineered that the end of the fourth quarter. With the ball at the 20-yard line and his team trailing 28-27 with 1:54 remaining, the quarterback led the Jets 55 yards into field goal range.

"I needed to adjust my mentality coming into this game," Smith said, who led the AFC in turnovers prior to the game. "I made it my duty to not put us in harm's way, to not have stupid penalties, turnovers, anything that can jeopardize this team."

Santonio Holmes sat out with a hamstring injury, and it’s unknown when he’ll return. Smith completed 16 of 20 pass attempts, despite missing his top target. It was his first game since finding out that Mark Sanchez had been officially lost for the season because of shoulder surgery.

“It was a tremendous game for him,” said head coach Rex Ryan. “The 80% completion rate, extremely accurate with the ball, made some great decisions. I thought he ran hard. I thought it was a great game on his part.”

Ben Roethlisberger has been a perennial winner since he was drafted in 2004, but the rookie Smith is having more success than him in 2013. In fact, few other quarterbacks have had the disappointing season that Roethlisberger is enduring. He leads an offense that ranks 29th in the NFL. Only the Giants, Buccaneers and Jaguars, who are all winless, have had a more difficult time scoring.

The quarterback hasn’t gotten much help, though, playing behind a struggling offensive line. He’s fifth in the league in sacks, even though the Steelers are one of a few teams that had had their by weeks. According to cornerback Ryan Clark, the veteran may be trying to do too much.

“You to have to protect Ben against Ben," Clark told ESPN. "Right now, we have to tone Ben down in a sense and say, ‘Hey, right now, we're not a good enough football team for you to try to extend plays, for us to take sacks, for us to have turnovers.' ”

Clark might want to look at the Steelers’ running game for the main reason why the team can’t get into the end zone. They have the worst rushing offense in the league, averaging 58 yards per game. Rookie Le’Veon Bell will get the bulk of the carries after returning from an injury. He’ll play behind an offense live that will feature some changes. The Steelers traded for left tackle Levi Brown, and guard Ramon Foster could be out with a strained pectoral muscle.

Pittsburgh heads to MetLife Stadium, having had two weeks to prepare for the Jets. The Steelers are 5-1 in the game following their bye, under head coach Mike Tomlin.

getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® Dallas Cowboys Vs. Denver Broncos: Prediction, Betting Odds, TV Channel, Where To Watch Online Stream And Team News [NFL Preview]

The NFL has seen some explosive offenses in the past few years. In 2007, the New England Patriots set a record by scoring 589 points in the regular season. The 2011 Green Bay Packers finished as the second-best offense in NFL history, and last year’s Patriots came two points per game shy of the all-time mark. In 2013, however, the Denver Broncos may surpass all of those teams.

Through four weeks, the defending AFC West champs have been unstoppable. The New England team that went undefeated averaged 36.8 points per game. Thus far, the Broncos are scoring just a shade under 45. In Week Five, they’ll look to continue their dominance when they visit the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas will try to be the first team to remain competitive with Denver for a complete game. At 4-0, all of the Broncos wins have come by at least 16 points.

Peyton Manning is the midst of a historical season at the quarterback position. He’s leading all signal callers in every major statistical category -- passing yards, completion percentage, touchdowns and rating. Along with his 16 scores, Manning has yet to thrown an interception.

"He's efficient, man," Broncos defensive back Champ Baily said. "And hopefully he gets better -- I don't know how, but hopefully he does -- because this guy's a prime example of what it takes to be a great quarterback in this league.”

There isn’t much reason to believe that the Cowboys secondary will have any more success than the teams that have come before them. Quarterbacks are averaging 382.3 passing yards per game against Dallas. Both Philip Rivers and Eli Manning went for over 400. Now, they’ll have to contend with the likes of Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and Wes Welker.

If the Cowboys are going to win a shootout, they have a quarterback who’s good enough to give them a chance. Tony Romo is off to, arguably, the best start of his career. He hasn’t been as good as Manning, but his eight touchdowns and one interception have made him one of the best in football. In his eighth year as a starter, the much maligned quarterback might be playing better than he ever has before.

“He’s has had this thing where he’s turned the ball over in the past in tough situations,’’ said Baily, in regards to Romo. “He’s not doing that this year. That is probably the biggest difference in the offense from the previous offenses I’ve seen from them. He’s playing great.’’

David Moyes is in no doubt that his Manchester United team will come good this season, despite suffering three defeats in their last four Premier League matches. Although it came with the concession of a late goal, the side picked up a creditable point away to Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek to provide a welcome boost following an ignominious 2-1 reversal to West Brom at Old Trafford. Moyes continues to stress that he is the right man for the job, but that some difficulties were inevitable.

"They’re really good players,” he said. “They know themselves the standards they have set over the years and, together, we’ll work to get it right. I’ve got no doubt about that.

"Anybody who comes into a new job, you learn as you get on and as you go along. I’m doing that as well. I already knew I was coming to a place with a group of really good players but we’ll also have difficult times as well."

Wayne Rooney was ruled out of the draw in Ukraine with a shin injury picked up in training and, at his Friday press-conference, Moyes revealed that he didn’t know the status of the forward’s recovery. “I've not seen Wayne this morning so I couldn't give you an update yet,” he said. The only other injury concern for Moyes is Rio Ferdinand, who has a groin injury.

While Moyes was always going to be given time to try and get things right at Old Trafford, the same luxury wasn’t afforded former Sunderland boss Paulo di Canio, who was dismissed after just five Premier League games of the season and 13 total including the climax of the last campaign. Former assistant coach and one-time midfielder for the club Kevin Ball remains in temporary charge and he claims to be eagerly anticipating the challenge of taking on the champions.

“Manchester United is another really good game and they're coming thick and fast,” he said, according to Sunderland’s official website. “I know I can’t run around anymore but I’m not half looking forward to the game.”

“Against Liverpool (when they lost 3-1) the performance was good -- we wanted it to be even better, but we didn’t get the result so we need to improve the performance for the result to come this weekend. I want improvement and for us to keep building and eliminating any small mistakes to give us the best opportunity to win.”

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown remains sidelined with injury, as do Steven Fletcher and Andrea Dossena.

Sunderland (probable)

G: Westwood

D: Gardner, Cuellar, O’Shea, Colback

M: Larsson, Cattermole, Ki

F: Johnson, Altidore, Giaccherini

Manchester United (probable)

G: De Gea

D: Rafael, Jones, Vidic, Evra

M: Carrick, Cleverley

Valencia, Rooney, Welbeck

F: Van Persie

Prediction: It was a decent away European performance by United in midweek. In many ways, though, it was the sort of rearguard display Moyes has had plenty of success with at Everton. His real task is to show that he is capable of successfully taking the game to opponents as United did so often in Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign.

Marouane Fellaini was poor in possession against Shakhtar and he may miss out to Tom Cleverley, with Rooney likely to be restored to the side. Antonio Valencia was slightly improved from his recent poor form, while Danny Welbeck showed he could track back as well as cause problems in the opposition penalty area, which should be enough for both to keep their place.

While Di Canio’s dismissal was inevitable, problems remain. The side is brittle at the back and, with the sale of the admittedly inconsistent Stephane Sessegnon, also lacking creativity going forward. Lee Cattermole and Sung-Yueng Ki are hard-workers in midfield and should at least make it hard for United in the early going. But, unlike against West Brom, Sunderland have little to hurt a less-than-secure United defense and the visitors should have enough quality in the final third to get the goals necessary for a win.

Sunderland 0-2 Manchester United

Where to watch: The Barclays Premier League match will kick-off from the Stadium of Light at 12.30 p.m. ET. Coverage will be provided by the NBC Sports Network, with a live stream available via NBC Sports Live Extra.

The No. 10 LSU Tigers can redeem their season on Saturday afternnon as they square off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium.

A back and forth battle against Georgia resulted in a debilitating 44-41 loss and a drop in the rankings for the Tigers. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger tossed three touchdowns and 372 yards, and is now second in the SEC in touchdowns thrown, but LSU let up 196 rushing yards and a 25-yard touchdown from Aaron Murray to Justin Scott-Wesley with less than two minutes remaining.

As a team, LSU also rushed for a season-low 77 yards. Sophomore Jeremy Hill’s 86 yards on the ground were largely negated by Mettenberger’s four attempts for minus-26 yards, while junior receiver Jarvis Landry posted new career-highs with 10 catches for 156 yards and his seventh touchdown of the year.

Landry, along with Odell Beckham, could feast on Mississippi State and their young secondary.

Of the Bulldogs 18 defensive backs 12 are underclassman, a major experience gap that could mean a huge game for LSU. However, Mississippi State is still 16th in the nation with 14.8 points allowed per game, led sophomore linebacker Benardrick McKinney’s 24 tackles. The defense has also surrendered only three rushing touchdowns in four games.

Two weeks ago the Mississippi State blew out Troy 62-7, kick started by junior defensive back Jamerson Love’s 70-yard interception return for a touchdown, and three total touchdowns by sophomore quarterback Dak Prescott.

Prescott leads his team in passing and rushing, highlighted by five rushing touchdowns, but he’s likely to split snaps with senior quarterback Tyler Russell, who sat out the last three games due to a concussion.

Both will have to combine their powers for a dominant performance on Saturday to break LSU’s stranglehold on the all-time series. The Tigers are 20-1 all-time against Mississippi State, including 13 straight victories.

The game kicks-off at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by ESPN, or watch a live online stream at Watch ESPN here.

Betting Odds: LSU is favored by 9.5 points.

Over/Under: 55.5 points.

The No. 9 Georgia Bulldogs will have to quickly find a way to shutdown No. 6 LSU running back Jeremy Hill, or face a long Saturday afternoon at Sanford Stadium.

In their first two games of the season the Bulldogs gave up 197 and 226 yards to Clemson and South Carolina, respectively. They split those two games with a victory over the Gamecocks, and found their footing against North Texas, allowing seven yards on the ground.

But thus far Georgia hasn’t faced a rusher like Hill this season. The sophomore from Baton Rouge leads the team with 350 yards and six touchdowns, and his 184-yard performance last week versus Auburn earned Hill SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. He’s also well on pace to surpass his inaugural year of 755 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Bulldogs have their own stud rusher in Todd Gurley, who’s posted 377 yards and four touchdowns in his second season. He’s averaging 125.7 yards per game, but faces his strongest test to date against a Tigers squad that’s only allowing 3.6 yards per rush.

The last time the two teams met was LSU’s 42-10 victory in the 2011 SEC Championship Game, and the Tigers are 16-12-1 in the all-time series. LSU also holds a 7-6 edge at Sanford, according to The Times Picayune.

This time around Zach Mettenberger is making his case for the SEC’s best quarterback, totaling 1,026 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. And receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry have combined for 44 receptions and 753 yards and all of Mettenberger’s scores.

Leading the Georgia secondary is freshman free safety Tray Matthews, who is the only Bulldog with an interception this season, while junior inside linebacker Ramik Wilson leads Georgia with 31 tackles.

The game starts at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by CBS, or watch live online at CBS Sports here.

Betting Odds: Georgia is favored by 3 points.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is relishing managing in what he sees as the most competitive Premier League season since he first arrived in England almost a decade ago. Mourinho will lead his squad across London on Saturday into a match against a Tottenham side he believes are genuine competitors for the title.

“In our time before it was a clear race between Chelsea and Man United,” he explained, according to Chelsea’s official website. “Finally Man City broke that period of blue and red dominance.

“In this moment the situation is different because the top six -- with all the respect to the other teams who are working to be in that group -- any one of the six teams can be first, any one of the six teams can be sixth. In my time before that was not possible.

“That's the beauty of the league. Instead of people complaining that we have all lost matches and no one of us have 15 points, it's better like this.”

Mourinho attempted to deflect attention from a first-ever contest with Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas. The Tottenham manager was part of Mourinho’s coaching staff in his first spell at Stamford Bridge, as well as at Porto and Internazionale before the pair had what their pre-match comments suggest was something of an acrimonious split.

Mourinho is likely to be more concerned about a cruciate ligament injury suffered by Marco van Ginkel in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Swindon Town in the Capital One Cup in midweek. The young Dutch midfielder has undergone surgery and Mourinho revealed that he will be out for five or six months, if indeed he returns at all this season.

In the immediate future, Chelsea’s preparations to take on Tottenham are further hampered by a hip problem that forced Ramires off on Tuesday after replacing Van Ginkel.

Tottenham completed their daunting run of three matches in six days with an impressive 4-0 win over Aston Villa in their respective League Cup tie. The result continued their fine defensive performance this season which has seen them now just concede a solitary goal in nine competitive matches. But Villas-Boas is anticipating a much tougher test against Chelsea.

“We’ve looked solid at the back, very focused and it's not just the clean sheets, but the amount of opportunities we’ve allowed and the chances we’ve prevented from opponents,” he said, according to Tottenham’s website.

"Again, this is a completely different proposition on Saturday, a team that will have more chances, but we have to show our ability to be solid at the back again."

Tottenham will again be without Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue. Danny Rose is expected to return, while Younes Kaboul faces a late fitness test.

Tottenham (probable)

G: Lloris

D: Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose

M: Paulinho, Dembele

Lamela, Eriksen, Sigurdsson

F: Soldado

Chelsea (probable)

G: Cech

D: Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole

M: Lampard, Mikel

Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard

F: Eto’o

Prediction: Both managers will have to select three players from an enviable array of attacking midfielders. In Tottenham’s case, the in-form Lewis Holtby will vie for a place with Christian Eriksen, who has made a fine start to his Tottenham career. Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andros Townsend will also compete for two places out wide.

Chelsea’s options are likewise plentiful, though they have not hit the heights of their Tottenham counterparts as yet. The man snatched from under Tottenham’s noses, Willian, was disappointing against Swindon in a match where the out-of-favor Juan Mata was given a chance to prove his worth. It is doubtful, though, that the Spaniard will ever do so under Mourinho.

Tottenham certainly look to have the advantage up front, having finally gotten a reliable goal-scorer at the top level in Roberto Soldado. For Chelsea, Samuel Eto’o has yet to get up to speed and the much-maligned Fernando Torres may even start on Saturday after scoring in midweek.

While Chelsea perhaps have the advantage defensively, Tottenham are the stronger going into the clash. Mourinho is likely to go into the game striving to frustrate the home side and keep things tight. Given the early kick-off time, which often leads to a sleepy 90 minutes, he may just succeed.

Tottenham 0-0 Chelsea

Carlo Ancelotti is taking nothing for granted ahead of his Real Madrid side’s trip to Elche on Wednesday, having already been given a stern examination by another newly promoted club this season. Real Madrid in large part had goalkeeper Diego Lopez to thank for walking away from Villarreal with a 2-2 draw earlier this month. Now going up against the side that topped the Segunda Division table last season, Ancelotti is expecting a tough contest.

“It will be difficult and we have to be careful with this match because we already had the experience with Villarreal and against Elche will be the same,” he said, according to Real Madrid’s official website. “We are facing a team who are very keen, who won the league last season and playing us is a big motivation for them. We have to concentrate and have as much character and desire to win as them.”

Madrid have made the trip to Alicante without Gareth Bale, who is still recovering from a slight muscle strain suffered in the warm-up for Sunday’s 4-1 win over Getafe. Ancelotti confirmed, though, that the big-money signing will be available for Saturday’s crunch clash with Atletico Madrid. Also back for the weekend will be Marcelo. Fellow left-back Fabio Conetrao, meanwhile, is back in the squad to face, as is goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

There has been much attention on Karim Benzema in recent days. Not for the first time this season, the French striker suffered groans and whistles from the Bernabeu crowd last time out after missing a series of chances. Ancelotti, though, is not concerned by either Benzema’s performances or the response from the club’s fans.

“He's played well, I'm pleased with his work, apart from his lack of goals,” he said, according to Spanish sports daily AS. “It's not a problem that the fans are booing him, sometimes booing is good, it motivates you.”

While Ancelotti has understandably compared Elche to Villarreal, the two sides’ start to life in the top flight could hardly have been more opposed. While Villarreal remain undefeated, Elche have yet to record a win on their return to the Primera Division after a 24-year absence. Last Friday they suffered a 2-1 defeat to the previously point-less Osasuna.

Elche (probable)

G: Herrera

D: Suarez, Botia, Lomban, Albacar

M: Sanchez, Perez

Stevanovic, Coro, Fidel

F: Boakye

Real Madrid (probable)

G: Lopez

D: Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Arbeloa

M: Khedira, Modric

Di Maria, Isco, Ronaldo

F: Benzema

Prediction: Real Madrid have started their last two La Liga outings poorly, conceding the first goal in each, and Ancelotti has targeted this as something which needs improving. In truth, it is difficult to see an Elche side that has scored just four goals in five matches posing much of a threat. It could be an ideal match, therefore, to reintroduce the hugely talented Varane back into the starting lineup. The loss of Bale is hardly a huge cause for concern, with Isco in scintillating form and Di Maria providing balance on the right. A comfortable away win appears on the cards.

Gerardo Martino has again been forced to defend the style of play he has implemented since taking charge of Barcelona. In Saturday’s 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona failed to enjoy the majority of possession in a match for the first time in five years. But Martino has hit back at the criticism, claiming that if he were from the Barcelona system, like predecessors Tito Vilanova and Pep Guardiola, or Dutch, like Johan Cruyff, Louis van Gaal and Frank Rijkard, then he would not face such scrutiny.

“Whenever you have a team that has been as successful as this side, these debates will occur, especially when the coach isn't from Catalonia or from Holland,” he said, according to Spanish sports daily AS. “But my main concern is how the players are performing and at the moment the team are solid and the players are happy, so that makes me relaxed."

Martino has stated that there has been a slight evolution in style -- something which Gerard Pique has welcomed by claiming that the team is no longer “slaves” to tiki-taka -- although exclaimed that it was hardly revolutionary.

“I haven't come here to make any changes, and if you want to question our possession, then last year the average was 66 percent and this year it's 65.8 percent,” he explained. “If because of that 0.2 percent you want to say we have changed everything, then go ahead. And with regards to us playing long passes, I remember that Rafa Marquez used to play here, so it's not as if the club hasn't seen that before.”

Barcelona will have Sergio Busquets back available when they take on Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on Tuesday. However, Cesc Fabregas has been rested, while Carles Puyol is still not fit enough to return.

Their opponents come into the match in need of a positive performance. After a fourth-placed La Liga finish last season, the campaign started brightly for new coach Jagoba Arrasate with an opening day league win and an impressive two-legged performance against Lyon to comfortably progress to the Champions League group stage. But Sociedad are without a victory since and, indeed, have gone three matches without scoring.

Loan signing from Queens Park Rangers, Esteban Granero was ruled out for six months with a knee ligament injury last week and Sociedad are expected to draft in Barcelona’s Mexican midfielder Jonathan dos Santos on loan as cover.

Barcelona (probable)

G: Valdes

D: Daniel Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Adriano

M: Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta

F: Pedro, Messi, Neymar

Real Sociedad (probable)

G: Bravo

D: Estrada, Gonzalez, Inigo Martinez, De la Bella

M: Markel, Pardo, Prieto

F: Griezmann, Seferovic, Vela

Prediction: Barcelona were vulnerable in the first half of each of their last two matches before going onto secure comfortable victories. On paper, Sociedad certainly have the attacking talent to punish Barcelona if there is similar sloppiness once again. However, that will take an improvement on the visitors’ recent performances.

With Busquets likely to come back in for Alex Song and add more control of the ball at the base of midfield, Barcelona should be steadier on Tuesday. It should be an entertaining fixture and Sociedad have the chance to spring a surprise if they play at their best, but Barcelona should emerge with a sixth-straight league victory to start the season.

Barcelona 3-1 Real Sociedad

getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® Dallas Cowboys Vs. St. Louis Rams: Where To Watch Live Stream Online, TV Channel, Betting Odds For Week 3 Matchup

The St. Louis Rams would certainly like to forget the last time they played the Dallas Cowboys. In Week 7 of the 2011 season, “America’s Team” won in dominant fashion, picking up a 34-7 victory.

Now, the two teams are set to meet again. The Rams will visit the Cowboys for the first time in two years in their Week 3 matchup.

St. Louis hit a low in that loss to Dallas. It marked their sixth straight loss to open a season that saw them end up at 2-14, tied for the worst record in the NFL. However, the team has come a long way since then. With a healthy Sam Bradford at the helm, the Rams are coming of a season in which they were one win away from sporting a .500 record. They enter Sunday’s contest at 1-1 with realistic hopes of making the playoffs.

Dallas also comes into Week 3 at 1-1. They are coming off a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but every team in the NFC East failed to win their second game.

The Cowboys hope DeMarco Murray can have a repeat performance from his one and only meeting with the Rams. He set a franchise record that day, rushing for 253 yards on 25 attempts. The third-round pick from Oklahoma, though, hasn’t been the same since his rookie season. He missed six games in 2012 and the Cowboys rushed for the fewest amount of yards in the team’s history. Through two games in 2013, Murray only has 111 rushing yards on 3.5 yards per carry.

"You've got to run the ball better, you've got to score when you're (in the red zone). You've got to stop people," Tony Romo said. "Every team's doing the same thing after this week that lost, and we're going to be included in that."

Through two games, Romo has done what he always does. He’s put up some of the best statistics, leading the NFL with a 72.5 completion percentage, and he’s only thrown one interception.

Bradford has also been without a strong running game with the Rams. The team lost veteran Stephen Jackson in the offseason, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons after eight-straight 1,000-yard seasons with St. Louis. Daryl Richardson has taken over the starting role, but he’s been unable to find his groove. The second-year man has yet to break 100 yards on the season.

On a run of six consecutive wins in all competitions, Arsenal will be further boosted for Sunday’s visit of Stoke City by the return to fitness of midfielder Mikel Arteta. Arsenal’s thin squad has been especially tested in the opening weeks of the season with injuries to several players. Yet, Arsene Wenger has led the club to second spot in the early weeks of the Premier League while getting their Champions League group stage campaign off to a fine start with a 2-1 win in Marseille in midweek. And Wenger is pleased that he could now welcome back Arteta.

“He is very influential and he's a leader -- one of the leaders of the team and he's a technical leader as well,” Wenger said, according to Arsenal.com. “We are happy to have him back as well because at the moment with the number of injuries we have, we are a bit short and we have plenty of games in front of us, so it's good news.”

It has been another midfielder that has grabbed many of the headlines in the early weeks of the season. Much criticized last term, Aaron Ramsey has responded in sensational fashion with six goals already to his name. After a career-threatening injury suffered against Sunday’s opponents in February 2010, Wenger concedes that it has taken the Wales international a long time to fully recover, but that he always remained confident in Ramsey’s ability.

"It was in the last three or four months of last season when he started to come back,” he said. “He had a difficult period in mid-season where people became a little bit impatient with him. I always thought he would score goals if he improved his technical quality. When you watched the games, you saw him always in good positions in the box.”

While Stoke’s physical approach under Tony Pulis should in theory have been a problem for an Arsenal side often accused of having a soft underbelly, the Potters have lost on all five of their visits to the Emirates in the Premier League. Pulis is now gone, of course, and Mark Hughes has had some positive early results as he looks to alter the side’s style of play. A week ago, Stoke frustrated Manchester City in a goalless draw.

Arsenal (probable)

G: Szczesny

D: Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs

M: Ramsey, Flamini

Walcott, Ozil, Wilshere

F: Giroud

Stoke City (probable)

G: Begovic

D: Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Pieters

M: Walters, Wilson, N’Zonzi, Adam, Etherington

F: Jones

Prediction: With Arteta only likely to be fit enough for a place on the bench, the Arsenal side still almost picks itself. While playing Jack Wilshere in an advanced role is not ideal, the enforced consistency of selection may actually prove beneficial at this stage of the season in preserving the side’s good run of form.

Under Hughes, Stoke have been looking to keep the ball more than before, but there has hardly been a revolution in style of play and their strengths largely remain the same. Stoke have little to threaten from open play and, if Arsenal can remain disciplined from set-pieces, the home side should pick up the three points.

Arsenal 2-0 Stoke City

While both sides have played it down, Thursday night’s matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs at Lincoln Financial Field largely revolves around head coaches, as Andy Reid returns to the City of Brotherly Love against new coach Chip Kelly.

After 14 years of service, Reid was fired by the Eagles after a 4-12 record in the 2012 season, but was quickly snapped up by the Chiefs. During his tenure in Philadelphia, Reid compiled a 130-93-1 record, reaching five NFC title games and one Super Bowl.

Reid, 55, is off to a hot start with his new club, and there is renewed optimism in Kansas City for the first time in recent seasons. The Chiefs are unbeaten after two games for the first time since 2010, the last year they made the playoffs.

The Chiefs squeaked out a 17-16 road win against Dallas on Sunday with new quarterback Alex Smith tossing for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Smith also led the team with 57 rushing yards, two more than running back Jamaal Charles.

Charles had a team-high eight receptions for 48 yards and a score, while receiver Dwyane Bowe had four catches for 56 yards and the other touchdown. The Chiefs also forced two Cowboys turnovers, and their 10 penalties for a loss of 45 yards didn’t come back to haunt them.

On the flip side, Kelly received praise for Philadelphia's effort in Week One, only to see his squad falter the follow week. The Eagles lit up the Washington Redskins in a 33-27 victory by tallying 443 total yards in the season opener, but held the ball for less than 20 minutes in a 33-30 loss to San Diego on Sunday.

Despite a limited amount of time for the offense to operate, the Eagles offense performed at a high level, as San Diego escaped with a game-winning field goal with seven seconds remaining. Quarterback Michael Vick rifled off 428 passing yards for two touchdowns, and ran for another score. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson hauled in a 61-yard touchdown pass, en route to a nine-catch, 193-yard performance.

It was a well-rounded performance for Kelly's high-octane offense. Running back LeSean McCoy had five receptions for 114 yards, while receiver Riley Cooper caught two passes for 25 yards and his first touchdown of the season. Zach Ertz, Jason Avant, and Bryce Brown were also key contributors in Week Two.

The Eagles defense left something to be desired, though. The Chargers tested Philadelphia’s coverage up the middle, extending drives with 22 first downs and a 10-for-15 conversion rate on third down. San Diego had three drives of 11-plus plays for more than 70 yards, and scored on each.

The game kicks-off at 8:25 p.m. ET, and a live online stream is available by purchasing NFL Game Access here.

getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® Tottenham Vs. Tromso: Where To Watch Live Stream Online, TV Channel, Kickoff Time, Preview, Team News And Prediction For Europa League Match

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has hit out at the Football League for putting his players’ “careers at risk” with their scheduling exacerbating the club’s hectic run of fixtures. Villas-Boas is furious that his side will have to play a League Cup tie against Aston Villa just two days after visiting Cardiff City in the Premier League. With Tottenham hosting Tromso in the Europa League on Thursday, it means they face a run of three games in six days. The fact that some Capital One Cup matches have been scheduled for Wednesday only adds to the Portuguese’s frustration.

“After this game [against Tromso] we have not only the Sunday game but the Tuesday game, which I found as an incredible surprise," Villas-Boas told a press conference. “How can a game be scheduled immediately after two days? It's putting the players' careers at risk.

"I find it absolutely incredible that we have to risk injuries to our players in a game that they play on that Tuesday. The second day of recovery is the most dangerous day for a player to pick up an injury.”

Villas-Boas has again stressed his determination to do well in the Europa League, yet he will doubtless be particularly wary of the fixture pileup it can bring. Last season Tottenham fell out of the top four in the Premier League as they featured at the sharp end of the Europa League. The former winner of the competition with Porto has since made efforts to address that potential problem, having, largely with the proceeds from the sale of Gareth Bale, strengthened his squad considerably. Those additions are sure to be needed in the coming days.

One of the new arrivals, Nacer Chadli, remains on the sidelines, though, with an abductor muscle strain. Longer terms injury victims Etienne Capoue and Aaron Lennon will also again miss out.

Tottenham are expected to have little trouble making the top two in a group that also contains Moldovans Sheriff Tiraspol and an Anzhi Makhachkala side that has just removed many of their better players from their wage bill. And Spurs’ Group K campaign begins by hosting a Tromso side that are currently battling at the wrong end of the Norwegian Tippeligaen with just seven rounds of fixtures remaining. Agnar Christensen’s team did, though, beat league leaders Rosenborg 1-0 on Sunday.

F: Soldado

Tromso (probable)

G: Sahlman

D: Fojut, Koppinen, Causevic, Ciss

M: Johansen, Drage, Andersen, Bendiksen

F: Moldskred, Ondrasek

Prediction: Tromso should pose little threat for Tottenham at White Hart Lane. The Norwegians lost the away leg of each of their three qualifying ties for the Europa League and, indeed, are only in the competition proper after Besiktas were disqualified from the competition. Tottenham now have enough quality to rotate, with the likes of Sandro and Lewis Holtby able to come in and the possibility of a debut for Argentinian Erik Lamela. Anything other than a comfortable win would be a major surprise.

Carlo Ancelotti becomes the latest coach to begin his quest to deliver Real Madrid a much-prized 10th European Cup when his side takes on Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday. The Italian, who won the Champions League twice with Milan, is spurred on by the challenge of succeeding where 11 coaches have failed in the 11 years since the club last lifted the trophy which those at the Bernabeu hold so dear.

“It’s the most important competition in the world and everyone wants to win it,” he said, according to Real Madrid’s official website. “Things are really balanced and the most important thing is to demonstrate our skill. Our team has a lot and this quality can be a good weapon to make it to the top in this competition. I’m really excited to play in this competition with Real Madrid and win ‘La Decima.’ It’s a fantastic motivation for me.”

It has been a mixed start for Ancelotti domestically. Madrid were not always convincing in winning their first three games, before they had goalkeeper Diego Lopez to thank for emerging from Villarreal with a draw on Saturday. The lineup at El Madrigal provided debuts for both Gareth Bale and Asier Illarramendi but, while Bale scored, Madrid looked far too open defensively.

“I’m not happy because we lacked balance,” explained Ancelotti. “I don’t think that we’ll have problems when it comes to scoring goals because we have players with fantastic skill. We need to defend better and it’s a question of balance. Tomorrow will be a good test, but we’ll try to play to win.”

There were plenty of goals when Madrid and Galatasaray last met. In last season’s quarterfinals, despite losing 3-0 at the Bernabeu, the Turkish champions briefly threatened to produce a dramatic turnaround at the Turk Telekom Arena before eventually falling 5-3 on aggregate. Both of Galatasaray’s big-name January recruits, Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder were on target that night and will again be pivotal this time around. Since then, Galatasaray have also added much-sought-after young Portuguese winger Bruma, who made an exciting debut as a substitute at the weekend but is not yet ready for a starting berth.

Another development has been coach Fatih Terim returning to take charge of the Turkish national team on a part-time basis. The season has not started well for his club, however, with Galatasaray drawing their last three matches in the league after claiming victory in their opener.

Galatasaray (probable)

G: Muslera

D: Eboue, Chedjou, Kaya, Balta

M: Amrabat, Melo, Inan, Sneijder

F: Burak, Drogba

Real Madrid (probable)

G: Casillas

D: Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Nacho

M: Khedira, Modric

Di Maria, Isco, Ronaldo

F: Benzema

Prediction: Both sides have similar problems in trying to get the best out of their attacking talent while not losing all balance defensively. Terim was bold in selecting Drogba, Sneijder and Burak Yilmaz against Real Madrid last season and paid the price. It will be intriguing to see if he is equally attack-minded this time around. Madrid, meanwhile, should be better without the ball if Angel di Maria replaces Bale, who is still seeking full fitness, and Sami Khedira returns in midfield.

There is again likely be no shortage of goals, but the visitors should come out on top.

Galatasaray 1-3 Real Madrid

Manchester Untied defender Rio Ferdinand is urging his side to return to the latter stages of the Champions League and put their bitter defeat to Real Madrid last season firmly behind them. After a run of three finals in four years, United exited ignominiously at the group stage two years ago before going out in the round of 16 when Real Madrid capitalized on Nani’s controversial sending off in the second leg at Old Trafford. While Spanish and German sides have become the dominant force in the competition of late, Ferdinand is keen for his side to redress the balance.

"If you don't win the competition you've got catching up to do," he said, according to Manchester United’s official website. "It's that simple. If that happens then you have work to do to catch up. Last year we went out in dubious circumstances; hopefully we can improve this season. Last year we improved on the season before that and hopefully we can improve again.

"The Germans did well last year, the Spanish sides before that. It goes in cycles and hopefully we can start the cycle this season.

David Moyes takes control of a team in the Champions League group stage for the first time this year, with a campaign that begins with the visit of Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. After he scored in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, it was confirmed that Wayne Rooney will again have to wear a protective guard for his head wound. More troubling news comes from both Danny Welbeck and Phil Jones both failing to train on Monday having missed out at the weekend. Shinji Kagawa is back in contention, however, as he shakes off the effects of the flu.

It promises to be a tough debut in the competition for Moyes. Leverkusen finished third in the Bundesliga last season, but might have been expected to struggle to repeat that success after losing influential forward Andre Schurrle to Chelsea.

But the club, managed by former Liverpool captain Sami Hyypia, brought in former Hamburg man Heung-Min Son as a replacement and the South Korea international has already showed signs of forming a dangerous triumvirate with Sidney Sam and the again prolific Stephan Kiessling. With Son’s agent having claimed that Manchester United were interested in his client over the summer, the player will doubtless be eager to show the Premier League champions what they missed out on.

Manchester United (probable)

D: Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra

M: Carrick, Fellaini

Valencia, Rooney, Giggs

F: Van Persie

Bayer Leverkusen (probable)

G: Leno

D: Donati, Toprak, Spahic, Boenisch

M: Bender, Reinartz, Castro

F: Sam, Kiessling, Son

Prediction: Manchester United may have got back to winning ways on Saturday, but they once more showed a stark lack of creativity both from the center and wide positions. With Rooney approaching some kind of fitness, his linkup play with Van Persie provides encouragement going forward. Howeverm while he is unlikely to start on Tuesday, Kagawa must surely be given a prominent role going forward. Marouane Fellaini, who made his debut off the bench at the weekend, could come into the lineup and will provide more thrust in midfield.

It will certainly not be an easy start for United, though, against a team that has won four of its first five matches this season. As well as their threat going forward, Germany international Lars Bender holds the midfield together well. In a tough group it will be vital for United to win their home games and they should just do that here.

His debut wasn’t perfect, but Geno Smith helped the New York Jets squeak by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an 18-17 win. Now, it appears that Smith will be the starter for much more than just Week 1.

Initially, the rookie was given the job because of a shoulder injury that wasn’t supposed to keep Mar Sanchez out for very long. According to multiple reports, however, Sanchez will require surgery that will keep him out for the rest of the season. With Sanchez on the sidelines, Smith should be under center for the rest of the season.

In his first game, Smith completed 24 of 38 passed for 256 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. In his second start, the West Virginia product will face the Jets biggest rivals in front of a national audience.

New York will visit the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. It’s the first regular season game on the NFL Network in 2013. The game is set to be broadcast at 8:25 p.m. ET. Viewers can watch a live stream online with at nfl.com.

The last time these AFC East foes played on a Thursday is a night Rex Ryan and the Jets would like to forget. New England left MetLife Stadium with a 30-point victory on Thanksgiving last year. The contest saw Sanchez commit the infamous “butt fumble.”

Smith hopes to perform better than Sanchez did that day. However, he’ll have to do it without his No.1 receiver. Jeremy Kerley won’t play because of a concussion. The Jets signed Ben Obomanu to add more depth at the position.

Tom Brady will be without a number of his top weapons. After losing both Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez in the offseason, Rob Gronkoswki and Danny Amendola, who were expected to be his top targets, will be sidelined with injuries.

Shane Vereen won’t play due to a groin injury. He ran 14 times for 101 yards on Sunday, taking over for Stevan Ridley, who had a key fumble that led to a Buffalo Bills touchdown. Vereen also caught seven passes in the contest. All of these injuries will make Julian Edelman Brady’s top target. Kenbrell Thompkins should also get a lot of looks.

Both teams enter the night at 1-0, but the Patriots are expected to win fairly easily. In fact, the 11 points they are given to the Jets makes them the biggest favorites of Week 2.

Prediction: With so many injuries to the Patriots on the offensive end, the Jets have a chance to keep it close. Their defense didn’t allow Josh Freeman to do much in the opener, and Ryan usually puts together a good scheme to slow down Brady. It’s unlikely, though, that a quarterback in his second ever start will be able to outsmart Bill Belichick.

Final Predicted Score: New England 20, New York 13

No. 14 Notre Dame will make their last trip up north for the foreseeable future as they meet the No. 17 Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night at the Big House.

Though the teams have met as far back as 1887, there has been a back-and forth over the past few months between Michigan’s Brady Hoke and Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly as to which school chose to bow out, and whether there is much of a rivalry at all.

Whatever the reason behind their break-up, both teams stand to greatly benefit from a victory on Saturday. The Irish are hoping to dispel any doubts that their resurgence last year was a fluke, and the Wolverines are looking to get back into the national consciousness after failing to reach double-digits wins for the fifth time in six seasons last year.

Michigan has won four of its last six meetings against the Irish, and could have won last year if it wasn’t for six turnovers, including four picks by then quarterback Denard Robinson.

This year junior Devin Gardner is under center, and he had the Wolverines offense humming in a 59-9 victory over Central Michigan last week. All told Michigan gained 463 offensive yards, 242 of which came on the ground, and the defense generated three turnovers.

Joining Gardner is a solid backfield made up of freshman Derrick Green and Fitzgerald Toussaint, a duo that probably poses the biggest threat to the favored Irish.

Notre Dame was equally impressive in its debut 28-6 win over Temple. Quarterback Tommy Rees tossed three touchdowns, and senior TJ Jones made six catches for 138 yards. Running backs Amir Carlisle and Cam McDaniel, who combined for 133 yards on 19 carries agains the Owls, join Jones as part a very balanced attack from the Fighting Irish.

The game kicks-off at 8 p.m. ET time and a live online stream is available at Watch ESPN here.
