Less than 24 hours before “Breaking Bad” was to come to an end, star Aaron Paul appeared on “Saturday Night Live” to poke some lighthearted fun at the series.

On the 39th season premiere of “SNL,” Paul appeared as his “Breaking Bad” character Jesse Pinkman to speak out in favor of Obamacare. In the skit, U.S. President Barack Obama (played by Jay Pharoah) invited Jesse onstage to share his story on why America needs the Affordable Care Act. Unsurprisingly, Jesse began to talk about his former friend and mentor turned enemy Walter White.

“He got sick, like cancer sick,” Jesse said, obviously speaking about the “Breaking Bad” main character Walter White, whose cancer diagnosis was revealed in the series’ first episode. ”Because there wasn’t Obamacare, he couldn’t afford the treatments, so he was backed into a corner, y’know what I mean?”

“Keep in mind, this man was a teacher with a family,” Obama said.

“So he did what any of us would have done, he started cooking meth. And soon it wasn’t just meth, it was murder. Not regular murder. He blew half of a guy’s face off,” Jesse said, before Obama cut him off, clearly embarrassed by the way the story was heading.

“Don’t you want to know what happened to my friend?” Jesse asked before he was shuffled offstage.

Fortunately, “Breaking Bad” fans don’t have to wait much longer to see what happens to Walter White. Chances are, though, it won’t be pretty.
