But, who is Dicarlo Bennett? The 28-year-old is a resident of Los Angeles and works for Servisair, a company that provides ground services at LAX, according to the Los Angeles Times. Bennett lives in South Los Angeles. According to a Facebook page for Dicarlo Bennett, he studied at Santa Monica College and worked as a ramp supervisor for Servisair. The Facebook page also indicates that the suspect attended Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles.

Authorities were led to Bennett because the dry ice bombs were placed in locations that cannot be accessed by the public. The investigation focused on airport employees, especially workers who can access the airport’s tarmac, according to the Times.

According to the Associated Press, Bennett made the first dry ice bomb by taking dry ice from a plane and placing the device in an employee restroom on Sunday night. A second dry ice bomb was found on the tarmac outside LAX’s international terminal. The bombs were made by putting the dry ice in plastic bottles.

Bennett was arrested Tuesday on suspicion and of possessing and exploding a destructive device near an aircraft, the LAPD told the Times. He remains held on $1 million bail as of early Wednesday morning.

The dry ice bombs were discovered by an LAX employee. The worker also found a third device Monday night that didn’t detonate. He then contacted authorities, which led to the investigation and arrest of Bennett.

Before Bennett’s arrest, authorities were exploring the possibility that the dry ice bombs were terrorism-related incidents, but they also investigated whether the devices were the work of a disgruntled employee.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said either way, authorities were taken the dry ice bombs seriously.

"Whether you think this is a harmless prank or a way to disrupt operations at the airport, it won't matter," Beck told the Times. "You will go to jail."
