U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., asked for an apology over the Obamacare website glitches. Facebook

The contentious tone between Democrats and Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee continued Thursday during a hearing on the glitches plaguing the Obamacare website when a Republican from West Virginia demanded an apology from the healthcare.gov contractors for the hiccups.

“I haven’t heard one of you apologize to the American public … for problems that were associated with not having this thing ready. Are apologies not in order?” U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., said to four Obamacare website contractors during the hearing, titled “"PPACA Implementation Failures: Didn't Know or Didn't Disclose?"

Someone who was not on camera during C-SPAN’s coverage of the hearing but presumably was a Democrat, shot back, “Did we get an apology for shutting down the government?”

The retort came after U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J., went viral for calling the hearing a “monkey court” after being asked to yield to U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Tex.
