Nicolet High School in Wisconsin was evacuated Wednesday morning following a bomb threat, which briefly led to a lockdown at the Milwaukee-area school.

The evacuation of Nicolet HS in Glendale, Wisc., was taken as a precaution and authorities do not believe the bomb threat is credible, WITI reported.

Nicolet students were being taken to nearby Glen Hills Middle School, where parents were urged to pick up their children, according to WISN.

Milwaukee NBC affiliate WTMJ obtained an email sent to parents from Nicolet High School superintendent Dr. Robert Kobylski. It read:

“The Glendale Police Department has recommended that we evacuate our campus as a precautionary measure because of our bomb threat. We are currently implementing the procedures we practice for safe evacuation. We will be taking our students to a pre-arranged site as a standard part of our evacuation protocol.

“It is our hope that we will be bringing our students back to Nicolet prior to the end of our school day. If that is not the case, we will provide you with student pickup information as it becomes available.

“We will continue to keep you posted with information updates.”
