getdiscountz.blogspot.com ® ‘Walking Dead’ Season 4 Spoilers: Who Is Negan? Will Comic Book Villain Replace The Governor In Season 4?

As “Walking Dead” fans know, the zombie apocalypse features many threats. Since the beginning of the AMC series, Rick and his band of survivors have been forced to combat the dead, the living and the elements. Continuously on the hunt for food, clean water, weapons and shelter, the gang has been non-stop fighting for their lives. Fortunately one threat was eliminated during the midseason finale – the Governor. And while the famed comic book villain may be gone for good, fans can’t stop anticipating the next big bad on the horizon.

With eight episodes remaining in season 4 of “The Walking Dead,” comic book lovers have been wondering if they’d get a peak at print villain Negan.

Who is Negan, you may ask? He’s none other than the current big bad in the graphic novels.

First introduced in Issue 100 of “The Walking Dead” comics, Negan is described as the “polar opposite of Rick.”

The leader of a band of strong and dangerous survivors called “The Saviors,” the group was initially part of the Hilltop Colony. “The Saviors” eventually separated from the Colony, demanding that their former group supply them with half of all their rations and supplies. In return “The Saviors” would kill any zombies near their camp … but they also had a bad habit of terrorizing and killing other human survivors.

In the comics, Negan and “The Saviors” run into Rick’s group where they are currently seeking shelter at the Alexandria Safe Zone. Seeking revenge for some “Savior” members that Rick’s group killed, Negan attacks Rick’s group members and demands that the Safe Haven now belongs to them– and ultimately ends up killing Abraham and Glenn. Eventually the two groups go to war with each other.

With a position now open for a villain on “The Walking Dead,” creator Robert Kirkman took the time to clear up whether fans would be seeing Negan by the end of season 4.

“Well, there was a lot of breathing room in the comics between them,” Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly of the Governor and Negan. “Whether or not we have the same amount of breathing room, or if we do cut that down a little bit and bring him into the show a little early remains to be unseen. But I definitely do think there needs to be some kind of space from a Governor into a Negan.”

Kirkman continued that fans definitely won’t be seeing Negan by the end of season 4, but that viewers will “see him eventually.”

“We are all very excited about the prospect of bringing that guy into the show,” he explained.

“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC with new episodes on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9 p.m.
