Some kids in Connecticut aren’t allowed to go into school and say “Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike—guess what day it is?” Middle school teachers in Connecticut have essentially banned Geico’s “Hump Day” commercial, wfsb.com wrote.

"Everybody's walking around in the hallways and saying its hump day in that weird voice," said Brooke Lewis, a Vernon Center Middle School told the news site. The YouTube video has gotten over 15 million views since the insurance company aired the "Hump Day" commercial, and it is arguably one of the most memorable commercials.

The commercial starts out with a camel walking around the office and asks different staff members the day of the week. Everyone pretty much ignores him, until one employee finally obliges him and says it’s Wednesday. That’s when the camel gets really excited and begins to shout “Hump Day!”

Part of the reason quoting the Hump Day commercial at the school is because pupils repeated it so much that it became disruptive, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary P. Conway told the news site. Students said it wasn’t just Wednesday that sixth-graders quoted the phrase-- it was every day. "Sometimes its the counting down to when it is," Lewis added.

Though the banned might seem a little absurd to some, parents are generally OK with the new rule. "OK, that's getting out of hand," Mick Ruggiero told the nenws site. "Just keep it to Wednesdays and we'll be all right."

"I think it's all kind of silly," Ruggiero added. "I think there's bigger things to take care of in middle schools than that. Obviously you don't want the kids to be disruptive."

According to Conway, the rule isn’t district wide, or even school wide. It’s just a few students who were asked to go to the principal’s office to make sure the phrase doesn’t get out of hand.
