“Call of Duty: Ghosts” players on PC may have found some relief to the install frustrations encountered since its Nov. 5 release. On the evening of Monday Nov. 18, Infinity Ward, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) finally released a patch for the version of “COD: Ghosts” available on PC via the Steam digital distribution platform. The PC patch for “Call of Duty: Ghosts” was announced by Infinity Ward via their official Twitter feed around 11:42 p.m. EST. Patch notes will be released sometime today according to Infinity Ward.
However, some intrepid Reddit users have looked into the “COD: Ghosts” PC 400 MB patch, which appears to fix alleviate a variety of issues, notably the artificial 6GB minimum RAM system memory requirement that prevented a number of “Call of Duty: Ghosts” players from enjoying their latest first-person shooter. Prior to the patch release for “COD: Ghosts,” players turned to an unofficial RAMfix workaround posted on torrent sites to get their game running.
Reddit user Mkapex1 looked into some of the noticeable changes made with the “COD:Ghosts” patch. According to his post, the 6GB RAM requirement was lowered to 4GB in the patch. Along with this major fix, other minor changes include a fix for menu stutter and some e-sports features added to private match mode.
