Floyd Mayweather has had one of the best careers in the history of professional boxing. On Saturday night, he’ll look to continue his success in the biggest fight of 2013.

Mayweather is set to put his undefeated record on the line against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He’s going for his 45th win without a loss, just four months after defeating Robert Guerrero in a unanimous decision.

Alvarez is 13 years younger than his opponent, but could give him his toughest challenge in recent years. Odds-makers have made him a much smaller underdog that anyone Mayweather has fought in his last few fights. He has also never lost and has one draw in his career.

If any current boxer can finally upset Mayweather, Alvarez might be the one to do it. The two will face off at a catchweight of 152 pounds for the super welterweight title, but Alvarez could be close to 170 when he actually steps into the ring. His combination of size and speed is something that Mayweather has not seen in quite some time.

No matter how the fight turns out, it will likely be one of the most profitable ever. With the price to order the fight set at $69.95 and $74.95 in HD, the bout could rake in more money on PPV than Maywather’s fight with Oscar De La Hoya, which drew 2.4 million buys. Mayweather is guaranteed to make a record $41.5 million on Saturday. A source tells ESPN that Alvarez’s promotion will earn at least $12 million.

The undercard, which is highlighted by Danny Garcia vs. Lucas Matthysse, is set to get underway at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.

Betting Odds: Mayweather-280, Alvarez+220

Total Rounds: Over 11.5 (-350), Under 11.5 (+230)

Tale of the Tape

Floyd Mayweather

Age: 36

Height: 5’8”

Reach: 72”

Stance: Orthodox

Record: 44-0, 26 KO’s

Canelo Alvarez

Age: 23

Height: 5’9”

Reach: 70.2”

Stance: Orthodox

Record: 42-0-1, 30 KO’s

Prediction: Mayweather has remained undefeated because of his ability to avoid getting hit. Against Guerrero in May, his opponent connected on just 19 percent of his punches. While Mayweather will have the edge with his defense and speed, Alavrez is deceivingly quick. He’s got the advantage in power and combo punching, and can make this a competitive fight with his high accuracy. It could end up being much closer than Mayweather might like, he’s probably too elusive to leave the ring without a victory.

Final Predicted Decision: Mayweather by unanimous decision
