Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones admitted that he was on a party bus over the weekend to celebrate teammate Bryant McKinnie’s birthday, but denied reports that a stripper named “Sweet Pea” hit him with a champagne bottle.

On Wednesday night, Jones apologized for his actions on his Baltimore-area radio show, but denied that an altercation took place on the party bus. “I’m going to take the responsibility that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Jones told 105.7 The Fan, as reported by ESPN.com. “There was no altercation. There’s nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong but I take responsibility for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Enough said. I apologize to my teammates and everybody.”

The 29-year-old wide receiver was reportedly injured early Monday morning while celebrating McKinnie’s birthday with several teammates, TMZ reported. The group left Ultra, a Washington, D.C.-area nightclub, at around 3 a.m., and boarded a party bus, where they were allegedly joined by at least one stripper.

At some point early Monday morning, a confrontation broke out between members of the party bus entourage, TMZ reported. A stripper named “Sweet Pea” reportedly struck Jones in the head with a bottle of champagne, causing an injury that required medical attention.

An ambulance was reportedly called to treat “a bleeding male,” but the unnamed individual, believed to be Jones, declined to go to the hospital, TMZ reports. D.C. police responded to the scene of the apparent party bus brawl, but did not make any arrests.

Regardless of whether or not Jones was involved in the party bus brawl, the incident won’t result in a suspension or affect his playing status. The 29-year-old told 105.7 The Fan’s radio host that he had already met with Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. “We’re good,” Jones said, according to ESPN. “We’re fine. Everything is good.”

Jones will miss his third consecutive game this Sunday as he continues to recover from a knee injury he sustained during the Ravens’ season opener, ESPN reports. The injury will reportedly cause him to miss “at least another couple of weeks.”
