The discovery of four bodies shot to death inside a parked car has left authorities in Crab Orchard, Tenn. searching for answers. According to the Associated Press, the vehicle was found at 7 a.m. on a road in the community of Renegade Mountain, which is roughly 50 miles west of Knoxville, in Cumberland County.

CBS affiliate WVLT reports that the victims have been identified as Danielle Jacobson, 22, Steven Presley, 17, Dominic Davis, 17, and John Lajeunesse, 16.

Investigators say that the four were killed where they were found. The motive for the killings is unknown.

As WATE reports, Cumberland County officials have called in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to help with the case. "We owe it to the families to do the best job and bring everything to bare, and utilize every asset we have," said Sheriff Butch Burgess.

"Knock on wood, we've not had any (cases) that (have) gone unsolved," Burgess said, according to CNN. "And we don't want this to be the one that does."

According to WVLT, a suspect in the case, Jacob Allen Bennett, has already been detained in Rhea County. Police said he was taken into custody in an unrelated charge “for the safety of the community." The investigation is ongoing.

In an interview with the AP, homeowners association president John Moore said that there are 141 houses and 43 full-time residents at Renegade Mountain.

“There are 10 miles of road on 3,000 acres,” Moore said. “It’s easy to get lost or be invisible once you get past the gate.”

Moore said that the neighborhood used to be gated, until new ownership decided to get rid of the gates in 2010. Since then, "there've been some break-ins, some sightseers, some drug dealers and some parkers."

As CNN points out, a post on a Facebook page affiliated with Renegade Mountain Resort reads: “We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to their families. Our community is close and family-like. The victims families are certainly in our thoughts and prayers.”
