Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings was allegedly punched in the face by prominent rapper “The Game” during his birthday party in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Jennings reportedly spent his 24th birthday at Lure, a popular nightclub in Los Angeles best known for its “Toxic” day party event, HipHollywood.com reports. The Game, a 33-year-old rapper from Los Angeles, Calif., is said to frequent the club, a fact that played a key role in last weekend’s events.
According to HipHollywood.com’s report, Jennings spent much of the night “hogging” the microphone in the club’s deejay booth. The Game reportedly felt “disrespected” by Jennings’ actions, leading to an argument that resulted in The Game punching Jennings in the face.
“Game feels like Toxic is his, and he didn’t like that Jennings was hogging the microphone. He felt like he was being disrespected,” an eyewitness reportedly told HipHollywood.com. “Game tried to have words with him, and it just escalated quickly and Game hit Brandon in the mouth,” another source told the website.
The Game’s punch allegedly sparked a brawl between his entourage and Jennings’ party, HipHollywood.com reports. Security managed to separate the two factions, but allowed both The Game and Jennings to remain in the club. However, the two groups reportedly became involved in a second brawl, forcing Lure to shut down the Jennings’ birthday party for good.
Jennings’ Twitter account contains several posts referencing his birthday party. However, neither the Pistons guard nor “Game” have publicly addressed their rumored brawl.
Regardless of the brawl, Jennings doesn’t have too many things to frown about these days. The 24-year-old recently inked a three-year, $25 million contract with the Pistons.
