Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones was reportedly injured after a teammate’s birthday party turned into a brawl.

Jones, 29, was reportedly injured during a birthday celebration for Ravens teammate Bryant McKinnie, TMZ reports. According to the report, Jones and his Ravens teammates were partying in Washington D.C. on early Monday morning when the former Pro Bowler was struck by a bottle.

Sources at the scene of the incident claim that Jones and a group of teammates left the Opera Ultra Lounge, a D.C.-area nightclub, at around 3 a.m. Monday morning, TMZ reports. The group reportedly boarded a party bus, where they were allegedly joined by at least one stripper.

At some point, the party bus celebration turned into a full-fledged brawl, TMZ reports. While it isn’t yet clear how the fighting started, an eyewitness claims that he saw someone swing a bottle at Jones, who suffered an undisclosed injury to his head. An ambulance was reportedly contacted to treat “a bleeding male,” but the unnamed individual did not go to a hospital.

TMZ’s sources added that a stripper known as “Sweet Pea” was responsible for the attack on Jones. Sweet Pea allegedly struck Jones with a bottle of “Ace of Spades,” a popular brand of champagne. The bottle reportedly broke over the 29-year-old’s head, causing him to bleed everywhere. The assault with the bottle is believed to have caused the ensuing Ravens brawl.

A friend of Jones’ purportedly tried to retaliate against the stripper, but McKinnie attempted to stop him, TMZ reports. McKinnie’s interference reportedly led to an additional fight between him and Jones’ unnamed friend.

D.C. police responded to the scene of the party bus brawl, but did not make any arrests, TMZ reports. The investigation yielded evidence of an assault, but none of the partiers cooperated with police.

Jones has not played since the Ravens’ Week 1 matchup with the Denver Broncos, where he sustained a leg injury during a collision with a teammate. The 29-year-old has yet to comment on the head injury he allegedly sustained in the party bus brawl, so it’s hard to say how such an injury would affect his playing status.
