Porsche has some lofty sales goals for the end of the decade and the company is looking to expaned into new territories, setting its sights on Africa. As part of its plan, Porsche wants to have a presence in 15 new countries by the end of the decade and surpassing the 200,000 mark for vehicles sold per year by 2015 or 2016.

Bloomberg reports on Porsche's expansion plans as it opened its largest dealership in Shanghai. The company did not discuss the specific markets that were being targeted but Bernhard Maier, Porsche’s global sales chief, did say north Africa was going to be a priority. In addition to new markets, Porsche will increase the number of dealerships globally, from 57 in 2013 to 100 by 2016. The addition of the Macan, a compact Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, will also add to Porsche's sales totals.

Porsche has been teasing the Macan but could reveal the vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show, from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1, while also making an appearance at the Tokyo Motor Show, which occurs at the same time as the Los Angeles Auto Show, reports Autoblog. Porsche's new SUV could come in two versions, the Macan S, priced at $52,000, and the Macan Turbo, priced at $75,000.

During the course of 2013, Porsche announced a 15 percent increase in deliveries. From Jan. 2013 to Sept. 2013, Porsche sold 120,000 vehicles, with 31,549 vehicles sold in the United States and 27,458 vehicles sold in China. According to the company, in September, the 911 was the most popular car in the U.S. whereas the Cayenne SUV was the most popular vehicle internationally. Porsche hopes to increase the 911's popularity internationally with Deesch Papke, Porsche’s China chief executive, saying, "“We’re extremely successful and delighted that our customers have accepted Cayenne, Panamera, and our sports cars already, but we would like to institutionalize the sales of 911 stronger," reports Bloomberg.
