Miami Heat’s LeBron James is currently working on a sitcom titled “Survivor’s Remorse” that will explore the lives of two men from the streets of Philadelphia who attain fame, reports said.

James will be an executive producer but will not act in the series, which he is developing in partnership with Starz network; Maverick Carter, James’ longtime friend and business partner; Tom Werner, the producer behind "The Cosby Show;" and, actor Mike O'Malley, who will be the show’s writer.

The show, with each episode lasting a half hour, talks about how two men, one of whom is an NBA star, deal with stardom. According to Werner, the show is not about James’ life but it has been inspired by the NBA star’s struggle to make it in the sport.

"I think the juxtaposition of great wealth -- and then you go back to your home in Akron (where James is from)and the neighborhood that you come from -- the chasm is a fairly big one, and I think it's some very interesting story material," Werner told ESPN.

James said he could relate to the story as it portrays the guilt the characters feel when they get out of Philadelphia's inner city and make it big in the outside world, while their peers from the earlier life struggle.

"I think the main thing for me is, first of all, making it out of a place where you're not supposed to. You're supposed to be a statistic and end up like the rest of the people in the inner city -- [and] being one of the few to make it out and everyone looking at you to be the savior," James told ESPN, in a phone interview, last week.

"When you make it out, everyone expects -- they automatically think that they made it out and it's very tough for a young, African-American 18-year-old kid to now hold the responsibility of a whole city, of a whole community. I can relate to that as well," James said.

He added that survivor’s remorse is something he feels even today, and that he carries a lot of "burden and responsibility" that many people do not realize.
