The House Gang of Seven whittled down to five Friday, as a stated distrust ofPresident Barack Obama led John Carter and Sam Johnson, both Republicans from Texas, to leave the bipartisan group. The two said they have no faith in President Barack Obama to enforce current or new laws, according to a press release.

The immigration working group that began as a bipartisan Gang of Eight began falling part in June when Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, walked away in disagreement. Mario Diaz-Balart is now the only remaining Republican member of the group.

Democratic members of the gang were waiting for their Republican counterparts to give their approval to introduce a comprehensive immigration reform bill next month. The bill has been in the works for approximately four years.
