In keeping with AMC’s longstanding tradition of squeezing every possible second out of its hit shows, the final two episodes of “Breaking Bad” will receive an extended runtime.
According to “Breaking Bad” writer and co-executive producer Peter Gould, the last two episodes of the show will run for an extended 75 minutes including commercials, rather than the show’s usual hour-long runtime. The past few episodes of the show have run two to five minutes over their normal length, but based on Gould’s comments, the final two “Breaking Bad” episodes will be expanded even more.
Confirming the news was TV Guide, which lists the last two “Breaking Bad” episodes as 75 minutes in length. Additionally, AMC lists the next two episodes of “Low Winter Sun,” which immediately follows “Breaking Bad” as starting at 10:15 p.m., 15 minutes past its normal 10 p.m. starting time.
“Breaking Bad” airs its final two episodes, entitled “Granite State” and “Felina” respectively, on Sept. 22, opposite the Primetime Emmys, and Sept. 29. Both begin at 9 p.m. EDT/PDT on AMC.
