UPDATE 12:20 p.m. EST: Peter Moreno, a Twitter user whose profile says he is a retired New York Police Department captain and a public safety expert, tweeted that the shooting actually occurred outside the station. Shots were fired during an attempted carjacking and the suspects fled into the station, he said.
