Tim Tebow is not on an NFL roster, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be playing professional football any time soon. The former Heisman Trophy winner has been given an offer to play in the Arena Football League.

On Monday, the LA KISS offered Tebow a three-year contract. The deal would give the quarterback a chance to “earn millions,” according to the team, who says Tebow is “reviewing the offer.”

The KISS are an expansion franchise that was started by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, who play for the band of the same name. The AFL announced that the two rock legends would be co-owners of a club in mid-August. The season is scheduled to begin in March 2014.

"Acquiring Tebow would not only be a great investment for the team, but his exciting style of play would definitely send shockwaves through the league," said Simmons in a statement. "We're excited for the opportunity to see him with an LA KISS uniform on, and for the LA KISS fans to be rockin' their Tebow shirts and jerseys."

In June, Tebow signed a nonguaranteed two-year contract worth $1.385 million with the New England Patriots. He did not survive the final round of cuts in his bid to become the team’s No.3 quarterback.

If Tebow wants his professional football career to continue, he may have no choice to but play somewhere besides the NFL. He went unsigned for much of the offseason, and struggled in a few exhibition games with New England. There has been speculation that the Jacksonville Jaguars could be interested in signing him, but the organization has stated that they won’t bring in the Florida grad. Since teams with issues at quarterback like the Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and New York Jets have no interest in Tebow, it’s unlikely that there’s a place for him in the NFL.

Tebow has other options if he declines the offer from the KISS. Quarterbacks coach Steve Clarkson, who has worked with Tebow, has suggested playing across the border.

"It's time now to maybe just reconsider a different path to his ultimate dream. Tim might want to look to the CFL because he may have run out of options in the NFL,'' Clarkson told USA Today. "Sitting is not an option for Tim. He's ultra-competitive. He needs to stick to his strength, which is being in a competitive environment.”

Having success in another league could help Tebow get back to the NFL, one day. Kurt Warner played in the AFL before leading the St. Louis Rams to the Super Bowl. Hall of Famer Warren Moon went straight to the CFL after going undrafted out of college.
